Online Desk: Yakub Ali Sumon, husband of the deceased Mahbuba Akter Akhi filed a complaint at Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council this noon. He has sought justice for the death of Akhi and her neonate following an allegedly botched Cesarean section at the Central Hospital.

The neonate died on June 10 afternoon, around 12 hours after the C-section and Akhi died seven days later, on June 18, while she was in life support. Yakub has accused the authorities of Central Hospital and Dr Sangjukta Saha, who was the consultant of his wife.

In the complaint, he brought allegation of mistreatment and deceit by the fellow doctors and staffers of Sangjukta. He also sought Tk 2 crore compensation for the deaths and demanded authorities to form monitoring cells in all hospitals to prevent such deaths.
