Online Desk : State Minister for Information and Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said that no government website has been hacked. “Due to vulnerability of the website, the information of millions of Bangladeshi citizens was leaked. Efforts are underway to resolve the matter .” He made the statements while responding to reporters over the issue at ICT Tower in the city’s Agargaon on Sunday. “We saw that there were technical weakness. That is why, the information is exposed to people. There is no scope to avoid responsibility for this incident.” Viktor Markopoulos, a researcher who works for Bitcrack Cyber Security, said he accidentally discovered the leak on June 27, and shortly after contacted the Bangladeshi e-Government Computer Incident Response Team (CERT). He said the leak includes data of millions of Bangladeshi citizens. Quoting him, TechCrunch published the report.
