Online Desk: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested a ‘war criminal’ from Narayanganj’s Rupganj upazila during a drive. Arrested Md Abdur Rashid alias Baddi is an warranted accused. He is a resident of Phulpur in Mymensingh. He was nabbed from Bagober Bazar area under Rupganj thana on Monday (July 10).

According to RAB-2 senior assistant director Shihab Karim, Abdur Rashid, 72, was involved in kidnap, rape, assault, murder in Mymensingh during the Liberation war.

An International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on January 18, 2022, issued an arrest warrant against him following a case file in 2019 for his crimes against humanity. But Abdur Rashid Baddi went into hiding after the court order. He was arrested by RAB from the Bagber Bazar area through intelligence surveillance.
