Online Desk: A record of 13 people died from dengue in 24 hours till on Tuesday morning, raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in the country to 127 this year. Of them, nine died in Dhaka while four outside Dhaka.

During the period, 1,533 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). Of the new patients, 779 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and the rest 754 outside it, the DGHS said.

A total of 5,569 dengue patients, including 3,443 in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country. Of the total deaths, 73 were male patients, while 54 were female patients.

Male patients occupy 63.1 per cent of the total dengue infected patients, while female occupy 36.9 per cent. The DGHS prepared the bulletin on dengue on the basis of the statistics provided by the hospitals.
