Online Desk: The ruling Awami League will bring out a “march for peace and development” in the capital today for the second day in a row. Activists from the ruling party and its various affiliated fronts have begun gathering close to the Satrasta intersection in Tejgaon in preparation for the procession, which will be preceded by a brief rally.

A makeshift stage has been set on the roads leading from Moghbazar to Mohakhali, and as a result the roads have been narrowed, which has created traffic. Dhaka city (north) unit AL organised the programme to counter BNP’s road march programme.

The rally will be addressed by AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader, and the party’s central leaders will march in that procession. AL leaders and activists will start marching from Satrasta intersection of Tejgaon to Mohakhali around 3:00pm. They will also bring out processions in cities and districts under Rangpur, Dhaka, Khulna and Mymensingh divisions.

The ruling party brought out such procession in the capital and all city and districts units under Rajshahi, Chattogram, Barishal and Sylhet divisions yesterday. In the capital, the AL men marched from Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh to Dhanmondi 32.
