Online Desk: Raihan Rafi’s “Shurongo” has become a victim of piracy. The hall print of the film was released on various movie-related sites, which has caused problems for the makers. Rafi posted a status where he expressed his disappointment over the situation and announced that he would take legal action against the culprits.
“They meticulously crafted a strategy to make our film vulnerable to piracy. Initially, they attempted to leak key climax sequences from movies. They then used their minions to make those scenes viral on Facebook and YouTube. And now they’ve released the entire film on social media platforms,” read his post.
The “Shurongo” director also addressed how a certain group is trying to attack the film. “They tried to fool us by including Indian advertisements in the hall print to prove it was done in India. However, because we know the discrepancies between the two versions, we know it happened in Bangladesh. Because of their scheme, our film has become a victim of piracy,” said the filmmaker.
Raihan Rafi has revealed that he has found out who leaked the movie on social media. “We are collaborating with the legal team to ensure that justice is served for our film. We are pursuing legal action against anyone who shared the film on Facebook, YouTube, Telegram, and WhatsApp. Piracy is a criminal offense. And the criminals will be punished for their crimes,” the director stated.
The filmmaker also questioned people’s silence over the whole piracy issue. “Whenever an issue arises, many people express their views and create video content to discuss it.” “However, regarding this issue, they are completely silent,” Rafi explained.
“Some of them are even celebrating the film’s piracy. I want them to know that true moviegoers will never view a pirated version. They will pay and visit the theater to see the film,” he concluded. The movie is still running housefull across many theaters in the country. The film was released in 108 halls in America and also received great response in Kolkata.
