Leave to appeal dismissed, 290 AL MPs’ oath legal

Online Desk: The Appellate Division on Tuesday dismissed the leave to appeal petition challenging the legality of oath taking by 290 Awami League lawmakers.
After hearing, a seven-member bench of the Appellate Division led by Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique passed the order today.
BNP leader Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon was present at the court on behalf of the petitioner.
The leave to appeal petition was filed with the SC on August 20, 2019 against the High Court order that rejected a writ petition in this regard on February 18, 2019.
