Online Desk: The metro rail services on the Agargaon-Motijheel route will be opened in the last week of October said Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Director MAN Siddique. He said that stations on this route would be opened in gradually after the opening.
He informed this after inaugurating a tree plantation programme at the route alignment median of MRT Line 6 from Uttara to Agargaon on Wednesday. He said the metro rail line from Agargaon to Motijheel will be inaugurated any day after October 15 depending on the prime minister’s schedule.
He said initially trains will be run on a limited scale. All trains would go to Motijheel just after the inauguration, he said adding that some trains will go up to Motijheel, some will stop at Agargaon. He said, “After the authorities have determined that the whole system is working well, and then we will merge it with the other section of the metro line. The number of trains will also be increased gradually.”
