Online Desk: Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader on Thursday said there was no participation of people in BNP’s rallies. How a mass uprising is possible without the participation of the people he questioned.

“Congenial atmosphere for political movement does not exist in the country. Two pre-conditions are needed for a movement. These are objective and subjective. BNP neither have objective condition nor subjective. Leaders of their movement are frustrated,” said the AL general secretary after placing wreaths at the grave of former Women Affairs Secretary of AL at Banani graveyard in Dhaka.

Quader said, “People did not take part in the movement. It was the movement of the party’s leaders and activists.” He said those who are shedding crocodile tears for democracy today they do the politics of killings and conspiracy.

The AL general secretary said, “Zia’s family started the politics of killings and conspiracy through the killings of August 15 and August 21. Their target is Bangabandhu’s family and Awami League. The killings of August 15 were occurred under the instigation of Ziaur Rahman. His son Tarique Rahman directed to kill Sheikh Hasina on August 21. Today, they are shedding the crocodile tears. They do the politics of killings and conspiracy.”

Is there any scope for democratic force to co-exist with those people who are involved with the politics of these killings and conspiracy, and shedding crocodile tears for democracy, Quader questioned the countrymen.
