Online Desk: Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan has said they will give priority to every match in the upcoming Asia Cup. The all-rounder said they will not put specific target for the team to achieve in the tournament rather they want to go match by match.

Shakib said they have taken good preparation for the tournament and will try to win every match if possible. He told this at a press briefing at the conference room of Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur of the capital on Saturday ahead of the team’s departure for Sri Lanka on Sunday.

The Bangladeshi captain expects that his team will do well in the Asia Cup which will begin on August 30. Bangladesh will play the first match against Sri Lanka in Group B of the six-team tournament in Kandy on August 31.  About the pacer Ebadot Hossain’s injury, Shakib said Ebadot’s injury is a setback for the team. The captain said that they have Towhid Hridoy and Shoriful Islam and hoped that a good score will come from their respective sides.

Bangladesh cricket coach Chandika Hathurusingha was also present at the press conference. He said his team’s first target would be to cross the first-round hurdle. About the World Cup, the Bangladesh captain said they are now focusing only in Asia Cup.
