Online Desk: A man and his seven-month-old daughter were killed in a landslide triggered by incessant rain in Chattogram city this morning. The deceased were identified as Mohammad Sohel, 35, and his daughter Bibi Jannat, said sources at the police camp of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
Abdullah Harun Pasha, deputy assistant director (DAD) of Fire Service and Civil defence Chattogram, said four members of a family got trapped when a chunk of hill fell on their thatched slum house adjoining to Sholoshshar Rail Station around 7:00am.
“Locals immediately rescued the four injured persons before our arrival. On reaching the spot, we sent them to CMCH immediately,” our local correspondent quoted Pasha as saying. SI Nurul Alam, in-charge of CMCH police camp, confirmed that two were brought dead at the hospital.
