Online Desk: The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection has fined two wholesale traders for not keeping receipts for the sale and purchase of green coconuts higher than the price list they have hanged. The team fined Tk 20,000 and 40,000 to the two traders during their special drive in the city’s Karwan Bazar at late night.
As part of monitoring, the Consumer Rights team conducted a special operation at Karwan Bazar, Beribandh and Jatrabari wholesale markets from 12:15am to 5am on Wednesday to investigate the reason behind the abnormal increase in the price of green coconuts.
The assistant director of the Dhaka district office of the directorate, Abdul Jabbar Mandal and the assistant director of the main office Shariful Islam led the drives.
