Online Desk: The electricity production at Karnaphuli Hydroelectric Power Plant has increased to 203 MW as the water of Kaptai Lake increased due to the hill slopes coming from the upstream. Which is the maximum power generation of the power plant in the current year.
Karnaphuli Hydroelectric Power Plant manager Engineer ATM Abduzzaher said, “A total of 203 megawatts of electricity has been produced from five units of the power plant till 9:30 am on Monday, which is being supplied to the national grid.”
He also said that according to the rule curve (measurement of water) on Monday till 9am, the water at Kaptai Lake is expected to be 99.69 feet Mean Sea Level (MSL). However, the lake now has water at 105.88 feet MSL. Kaptai Lake has a water storage capacity of 109 feet MSL. Mentionable, it is possible to generate highest 230 megawatts of electricity from five units of the power plant.
