Online Desk: The trial run of a special train on Mawa-Bhanga section crossing through the Padma Bridge started on Thursday morning.
Around 10:15am, a train left Kamalapur Railway Station for Bhanga where Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan, Railways Secretary Dr Mohammad Humayun Kabir and other officials are on board as observers.
“This rail link will bring a revolutionary change for southern region people. There will be changes in the communication system. The people of the whole country will get the benefits of this,” Minister Nurul Islam said.
The trains will officially start running on the route haka to Bhanga via Padma Bridge on October 10. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate on that day.
