Online Desk: The Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami will bring out processions in Dhaka on Friday and in all major cities of the country on Sunday to protest arrests of party men and attacks on them during absentee funeral prayer (Gayebi janaza) for the late Delwar Hussain Sayedee across the country.
Jamaat acting secretary general ATM Masum made the announcement in a written statement on Wednesday. He said Jamaat leaders and activists will bring out a procession in the capital on Friday and in other metropolitan cities of the country on Sunday.
He also sought the cooperation of all Jamaat supporters, the mass people and the administration for the peaceful carrying out of the programmes.
Meanwhile, the BNP will hold mass processions in the capital on Saturday as part of its one-point movement demanding the resignation of the rulling government and a non-party caretaker government during the national election.
