Zaida Khatun takes charge as GCC mayor

Online Desk: Zaida Khatun took charge as the first female mayor of Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) on Monday. Following the occasion, a reception was accorded to Zaida at Bangtaj Auditorium in Rathkhola area, in the southern part of Nagar Bhaban.

After assuming her role as mayor, she said at City Hall around 1:00pm,”We will build a planned city with everyone, including all the councilors.” At that time, former mayor Zahangir Alam, Zaida’s son, said,”Everyone should work together and cooperate with each other as the General Election is ahead of us.”

Later, he sought prayers and good wishes for his mother.
