Online Desk: Shah Alam Md Akhtarul Islam, previously serving as the additional deputy commissioner of Khilgaon Zone in the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Motijheel Division, has been posted as the new ADC of Ramna Zone. An office order, signed by DMP commissioner Khandker Golam Faruq, announced the posting.

The additional deputy commissioner (Ramna Zone) Harun Ar Rashid was transferred on Sunday by the DMP from Ramna Crime Division to the Public Order Management (POM) Division of the DMP for allegedly beating up two central leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) inside Shahbagh Police Station on Saturday night. Several hours later, Police Headquarters issued a new posting order for ADC Harun to the Armed Police Battalion (APBn).

Additionally, DMP formed a three-member probe body to investigate the incident where Md Abu Yusuf, deputy commissioner (operation) of DMP, was made the head of the body, and two additional deputy commissioners Shahen Shah and Md Rafiqul Islam were named its members. The probe body was asked to submit the investigation report to the DMP commissioner within two days.

On Monday afternoon, ADC Harun was suspended with a circular issued by the Home Ministry.
