Online Desk: Bangladesh have posted a challenging total of 265 runs in 50 overs before India in the last game of the Super Four of the Asia Cup after recovering from the early collapse relying on the counterattacking partnership between skipper Shakib Al Hasan and young Towhid Hridoy. Both batsmen crossed their individual fifties while making a 101-run partnership between them where Shakib played a crucial knock of 80 runs from 85 balls and Hridoy 54 from 81 balls.

Nasum Ahmed and Mahedi Hasan, later, joined and added some important runs of 44 and 29 at the end to power the team to set a target of 266 runs. Debutant bowler Tanzim Hasan Sakib played a cameo of 14 off 8 during the time.

Earlier being asked to bat, Bangladesh fell under huge pressure losing four wickets on just 59 runs in 14 overs. Young Tanzid Hasan Tamim failed to carry on despite having a positive start, departing on 13 off 12. Liton Das continued holding his failure as he returned for a duck. Anamul Haque Bijoy who was called into the playing XI failed to make use of the opportunity, going back to the pavilion on just 4 off 11. Mehidy Hasan Miraz who was promoted at number 5 was unable to extend the innings as he departed for 13 off 28.

Shardul Thakur struck thrice whereas Mohammad Shami got two wickets for India. Besides, Axar Patel, Prasidh Krishna and Ravindra Jadeja got one wicket each. Earlier, both teams made significant changes to their playing XIs.

Bangladesh brought back Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Mahedi Hasan, and Anamul Haque Bijoy; the latter played his last ODI in December last year. Mohammad Naim was rested along with Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud. Mushfiqur Rahim is also absent from this match, as the wicketkeeper-batsman is currently in Bangladesh with his wife, who recently gave birth to a baby girl. Tanzid Hasan Sakib has been included in the team, earning his first international cap in the match.

Meanwhile, India made five changes to their XI as Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Mohammad Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav are out. Tilak Varma made his debut, Mohammad Shami, Suryakumar Yadav, and Prasidh Krishna came in.

Bangladesh has already been ruled out of contention for the final of this Asia Cup. They won only one match in the group phase, but they have lost all of their Super Four matches so far. In contrast, India has secured a spot in the final, where they will face Sri Lanka.
