The Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of police in recent drives arrested three members of a new militant outfit named ‘Taohidul Uluhiyah (Al-Jihadi)’ from different areas of the country.
DIG (Operationa) of the ATU Abdul Alim said during a press conference at the ATU headquarters in the capital on Saturday afternoon.
The detainees are – the outfit’s chief Md Juwel Mollah, 29, members Md Rahul Hossain, 21, and Md Gaziul Islam, 40. He said the arrestees were planning to carry out nationwide terrorist attacks. The ATU members carried out several drives in the country from September 13 to 16 to capture the three militants.
