Online Desk: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir held a meeting with US Ambassador to Dhaka Peter Haas again today (Thursday). The meeting held at American Club at Gulshan in the capital lasted for an hour starting at 12:45pm. A source of the BNP media cell confirmed about the meeting. The US Embassy’s Political and Economic counselors were present at the meeting.

However, neither the BNP, nor the US Embassy in Dhaka did not say anything about the meeting formally. Meanwhile, the US Pre-Electoral Assessment Team is now visiting Dhaka. The team arrived in Dhaka on Saturday. The US team is scheduled to leave Dhaka tonight.

The US Pre-Electoral Assessment Team has already held talks with the leaders of different political parties including Awami League and BNP. The BNP delegation led by Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir held a meeting with the US team on Monday last. BNP leader Mirza Fakhrul held the second meeting this week with the US Ambassador on Thursday.
