Online Desk: Twelve more people died from dengue fever and 1,558 hospitalised across the country in the last 24 hours till Friday morning.
Of the new 12 fatalities, eight were reported in the capital.
According to the latest data of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), a total of 1,226 people died of dengue and some 2,51,101 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since this year.
Currently, 8,003 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are receiving treatment at different government and private hospitals in the country.
Of them, 2,358 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 5,645 are in other divisions.
Some 2,41,872 out of the hospitalized patients were released recovering during the period.
The country recorded 281 dengue deaths in 2022, the highest on record after the 179 deaths recorded in 2019. Additionally, the DGHS recorded 62,423 dengue cases and 61,971 recoveries last year.
