Online Desk: Nine more patients died from dengue in the country in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning, raising the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease 1,255 this year.

Among the deaths, two deaths reported in Dhaka and seven reported outside the capital.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) some 2,056 were hospitalized with the viral fever during the period.

Among the new patients, 500 admitted to the hospital in the capital and rest are outside it.

It said some 10,170 people diagnosed with the fever are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals across the country.

As many as 2,55,046 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 2,46,114 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
