Online Desk: Seventeen more patients died from dengue in the country in the last 24 hours till Monday morning, raising the death toll from this mosquito-borne disease rose to 1,272 this year.

Among the deaths, ten deaths reported in Dhaka and seven reported outside the capital.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) some 2,014 were hospitalized with the viral fever during the period.

Among the new patients, 454 admitted to the hospital in the capital and 1,560 are outside it.

It said some 10,170 people diagnosed with the fever are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals across the country.

As many as 2,57,060 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 2,48,199 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
