Online Desk: Bangladesh will bowl first against Netherlands in their sixth game of the ICC Cricket World Cup at Eden Gardens in Kolkata as they are eying to seal their second victory in the event.
The Tigers made two changes for the game with fast bowler Taskin Ahmed and spin allrounder Mahedi Hasan coming in place of fast bowler Hasan Mahmud and left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed.
“We have to do better with batting and bowling, especially in the powerplay. If we can do that, the momentum will be with us. We’ve got a lot of Bangladeshis who have travelled across the border, plus in Kolkata we speak the same language, have a similar culture,” Shakib Al Hasan said after being asked to bowl first.
Netherlands Captain Scott Edwards had no hesitation to bat first after winning the toss. He said the wicket looks good to bat first.
“The wicket looks good. Hopefully, we can score quick. The good thing is that it is a quick turnaround, so we need to leave the loss behind,” he said.
“We’ve set high expectations on ourselves, we need to just focus on the games to come. Barring the last game, we’ve been playing a lot of good cricket.”
Netherlands also made two changes from the previous game. Like Bangladesh they also aim to secure their second victory after upsetting mighty South Africa.
