48 platoons BGB deployed for safety of garments

Online Desk: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have been deployed in Dhaka and adjacent areas to ensure security of the apparel factories, amid the ongoing workers’ unrest in the garments sector.
Shariful Islam, public relations officer (PRO) at BGB headquarters, confirmed the development on Wednesday morning.
He said a total of 48 platoons BGB have been deployed in the capital and nearby districts to ensure security at garment factories. Besides, an additional number of BGB troops were also deployed to ensure a law and order situation.
Today is the first day of the fresh two-day countrywide blockade called by BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami.
