Online Desk: Two more victims of the fire at Royal Filling Station in Mohakhali have died on Monday, pushing the death toll up to four.
Amir Hossain Suman, 32, who worked as the cashier at the fuel station, died around 7 am and Md Masum, 25, died around 11 am on Monday from burn injuries while undergoing treatment, said MD Tariqul Islam, resident physician at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
Suman suffered burns on 35 percent of his body and Masum on 60 percent, said the resident physician.
Suman hailed from Chandpur and lived in Dhaka’s Nakhalpara. He was receiving treatment at the ICU.
Four other victims are undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
Eight people received serious burn injuries in the fire last Wednesday. Motor mechanic Md Salahuddin, 38, and engineer Abul Khair Gazi had previously died from burns suffered in the same incident.
The bodies have been kept at the morgue at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and will be handed over to the families following the necessary legalities, said Bachchu Mia, chief of the DMCH Police Outpost.
