Online Desk: Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said on Sunday said the voting is going on across the country in a peaceful environment amid festive mood.

“Election is a festival in our country, in fact, this vote festival is being held in Bangladesh. The BNP’s misdeeds surrounding the election have been overshadowed by the enthusiasm of people. In fact, the way people are voting today, BNP-Jamaat has become the opponent of the people,” said Hasan.

Hasan, who is also the Awami League candidate for Chattogram-7 constituency, said these while talking to reporters after casting his vote at Sukhbilas High School centre in Padua union of Rangunia upazila on Sunday.

“If they (BNP)go against people, they will never be successful. I firmly believe and hope that today’s election will be a landslide victory for the Bangladesh Awami League. And Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina will be elected the Prime Minister of the country for the fifth time, including the fourth time in a row in the history of the country,” he also said.

Hasan said he voting is being held in his constituency amid huge enthusiasm. “It is not only in my constituency but people of the country are exercising franchise with great enthusiasm.”
