The Daily Morning Voice Online Desk: Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said it is BNP who should be subject to sanctions but not Awami League. He told reporters following a meeting held at Setu Bhaban in the capital on Thursday. The AL general secretary said, “Democracy has been freed long ago under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. BNP does not need to rescue democracy again.”
He further said, “Though militancy seems inactive but BNP is getting prepared secretly. According to detectives’ information, they (BNP) are preparing for major attacks and sabotage.” Awami League is on streets and would remain there, said Quader adding that their mass communication and peace rally would be continued until the next general election. He said, “Awami League does not arranged any counter-programme. The party is continuing its programmes as usual. Awami League has no desire to clash with BNP.”
