Online Desk: Bangladesh and Nepal on Sunday stressed the need for working together to address challenges to be faced after graduating from LDC status.

Both sides agreed to advance the relations for promoting regional cooperation to work together towards further consolidating the existing relations.

Ambassador of Nepal Ghanshyam Bhandari paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud at latter’s office.

The Foreign Minister laid emphasis on economic and power sector cooperation with Nepal.

He expressed his satisfaction over the increasing momentum of bilateral engagements between Bangladesh and Nepal.

He underlined the need for expanding economic and power sector cooperation for the betterment of the people of the two countries.

Congratulating the Foreign Minister, Nepalese Ambassador Bhandari expressed happiness on the existing friendly relations between the two countries.

He termed the relationship between Bangladesh and Nepal as trouble-free relations.

The envoy appreciated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for achieving unprecedented socio-economic advancement in the last fifteen years.

He also briefed the Foreign Minister about the activities undertaken by the Mission with view to strengthening and deepening the areas of cooperation between the two countries.

The envoy mentioned that the excellent relations at the political and people-to-people levels further may be strengthened in the areas like trade, connectivity, energy, tourism and education, among others.

They also discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The Nepalese Ambassador extended invitation to Hasan on behalf of the Foreign Minister of Nepal to visit Nepal.
