Health Ministry to tackle medicine price hike: Minister Samanta Lal Sen

Online Desk: Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr Samanta Lal Sen said instructions have been given to discuss the matter of medicine price hike and how to tackle it with concerned officials and drug company owners.
He said this while talking to reporters at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
He instructed the secretary of the Health Services Division of the ministry, Md. Jahangir Alam, to discuss in response to a question regarding the price hike of medicine.
“Newspapers frequently publish articles regarding medicine costs. The price of medicines cannot increase abnormally all of a sudden. We need to investigate why it is increasing, how much it is increasing, and if it is rational,” he said.
