Online Desk: The government has decided to sell meat, eggs, chicken at reasonable prices in Dhaka from March 10 to support the consumers during the holy month of Ramadan.

Fisheries and Animal Resources Minister Abdur Rahman announced the government initiative after a working session on the second day of the Deputy Commissioners Conference at the Osmani Smriti Auditorium in the capital on Monday.

He noted that these products will be sold from open trucks at 30 designated spots across the city, and the sale will continue until the day before Eid.

According to the minister, beef will be sold at Tk 600 per kilogram, mutton at Tk 900 per kg, dressed broiler chicken at Tk 280 per kg, and egg at Tk10 apiece.

He said the decision came as an attempt to rein in the soaring prices of these protein sources during the month of Ramadan.
