Online Desk: The historic March 7 speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was resounded by the voices of 714 children in Tungipara of Gopalganj. On Thursday morning, Tungipara Upazila Parishad and administration organized this exceptional speech in the upazila helipad square with the assembled voices of children.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s timeless historical speech of 1108 words of 19 minutes on March 7, 1971 was pronounced by the voices of 714 children at 9:30 am. Tungipara’s helipad square became for a moment like the race course ground of March 7, 1971 as the children dressed in Bangabandhu costumes wearing Mujib coats over white pajamas and Punjabis chanted ‘This time our struggle for freedom, this time our struggle for freedom’. History looks back at that moment.
On this day, 714 students from 102 educational institutions of the upazila had memorized the whole of Bangabandhu’s nineteen-minute speech.
Shriya Gharami, a class 10 student of Tungipara Khan Sahib Sheikh Mosharraf Hossain School and College, led the speech presentation. The guests, Sudhijan, government officials, leaders and workers of Awami League and affiliated organizations were impressed by the speech of the students.

The skillful weaving of 1108 words from the heart of Bangabandhu has given the Bengali nation freedom, motherland and unstoppable progress Bangladesh. Therefore, the speech of March 7 has been imbibed in order to inspire young students with the spirit of liberation war, patriotism and Bangabandhu’s ideology.

The speech has been recognized as a historical document by the UNESCO International Memory of the World Registrar. Through Bangabandhu’s speech, the young students will be inspired by the ideals of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and will play an important role in building his dream Sonar Bangla in the future.
At the end of the speech, the ‘Shabda Shobhayatra’ of March 7 was taken out by holding placards containing 1108 words and blowing balloons. The procession went around the various roads of the upazila and ended at the tomb of the Father of the Nation. Later, children and students laid wreaths at Bangabandhu’s tomb.
