Online Desk: The government has not any plan to increase train fare from April 1, before the Eid-ul-Fitr said Railway Minister Md Zillul Hakim.
He said various media published news that train fares are increasing but they have no such decision right now.
The minister said this while talking to reporters in the capital on Sunday.
Responding to a question, he said that train fare will not be increase before the Eid anyhow. Even, in the near future, train fares will not be increased.
Following the reports in several media regarding fare hike, he said that Bangladesh Railway acting director general Sardar Shahadat Ali is not the decision maker. He said they will consider the issue after informing people and discussing with journalists.
There is no reason to doubt this, he added.
