Online Desk: Metro rail train services will be extended for an hour from 16 Ramadan (Wednesday).
The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) authorities took the decision considering the Ramadan month.
The last train will depart Motijheel on Wednesday at 9:40pm and will leave Uttara station 9:20pm. There will be a 12-minute gap between each train.
A total of 184 trains are being providing services to the commuters in a day. From Wednesday 10 more trains will be added. Then, total 194 trains will ply.
The train services will remain closed on Eid day.
MAN Siddique, managing director of DMTCL, said they are analysing the passengers’ movement on the train after the inauguration. If needed, the time between the two trains will increase.
Metro rail trains are operating on the Uttara-Motijheel route from 7am to 8:40pm.
There will be an 8-minute gap at peak hours from 7am to 11:30am and 2pmam to 8:00pm and a 12-minute headway in off peak hours from 11:31am to 2:30pm.
