Online Desk: An Iftar and discussion was held at a restaurant in Rome, Italy for expatriates to celebrate the launch of Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ Rome-Dhaka flight.
The event was attended by distinguished guests Sajjadul Hasan MP, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry; Farida Yasmin, MP, President of the National Press Club; Md. Mokammel Hossain, Secretary of the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry; Shafiul Azim, Managing Director and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, among others, according to a press release.
It is noteworthy that Biman Bangladesh Airlines resumed its Dhaka-Rome-Dhaka route on Wednesday (March 27) after 9 years. Upon arrival of the inaugural flight in Rome, Rome Airport Authority (ADR) and Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Italy Manirul Islam welcomed the passengers and the convoy of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at the airport, it said.
The Rome route is operated with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
The first flight on the Rome-Dhaka route was filled with 11 passengers in Business Class and 243 in Economy Class.
Expatriate Bangladeshis thanked the Biman management for the resumption of the flight.
