Online Desk: The government has decided to extend the contractual appointment of Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan as Bangladesh ambassador to Germany until December 31, 2024.
Earlier on February 25, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked him to return home, leaving his current charges as his tenure ends.
The government, however, decided to extend his tenure in a revised decision, said a diplomatic source.
Bhuiyan is a former senior secretary to the government and was appointed as ambassador to Germany in 2020.
Before his retirement from government service, Bhuiyan held important government positions like Chairman of the National Board of Revenue.
With a Bachelor of Social Sciences and Masters of Social Sciences degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka, Bhuiyan completed Master of Arts degree in Development Economics from Williams College in Massachusetts, USA.
