Electricity price at retail level raised by 5% again

Online Desk: The government has increased the retail price of electricity by five percent for the second time in less than a month. The price rise will come into effect from February 1, according to a notice issued by the power, energy and mineral resources ministry today.

The government raised the price bypassing the public hearing of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission. The government last raised prices of electricity by five percent on January 12.
