Online Desk: Garment workers started demonstration blocking Konabari-Kashimpur regional road in Gazipur’s Konabari on Monday morning for their due salaries and Eid bonus.

Employees of Keya Knit Composite Ltd took to the street at Jorun area at about 6am, halting traffic movement on the the regional road.

They alleged that though the authorities promised to give all the dues, but they did not pay February month’s due salaries and annual leave amount and Eid bonus.

Members of Gazipur Industrial Police and Konabari police are trying to remove the protesters from road to ease the traffic movement.

A worker named Saiful Islam said, “Eid-ul-Fitr is very nearer. But we did not get salaries and bonus. How can we go to village without money?”

“We demanded for dues and bonus within today,” he added.
