A low pressure is likely to develop over the Bay of Bengal during the next two days.

At the same time, the trend of rain may increase. Apart from this, the low pressure can gradually accumulate energy and become a cyclone. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has given such forecast.

A mild to moderate heat wave was sweeping over the entire country for the past few days. Due to the increase in storms and rains, the heat wave has been removed from many places.

On Monday Meteorologist Manowar Hossain said that a low pressure may develop in the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas within the next 48 hours. Later it can be condensed. He said that mild to moderate heat wave is flowing over Rajshahi, Pabna, Dinajpur and Nilphamari districts along with Khulna and Barishal divisions and it may subside from some places.

Meanwhile, the highest temperature in the country was 38.3 degrees Celsius in Mongla on Sunday. The maximum temperature in Dhaka was 35.4 degrees Celsius. From Sunday morning to Monday morning, more or less rain fell in all the sections. During this period, the highest rainfall of 71 mm has occurred in Sandwip. Rangpur and Chittagong divisions had slightly higher rainfall trend.

Meteorologist Manowar Hossain said that in many places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and Dhaka, some places of Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions may experience temporary rain with gusty winds or rain with thunder. Along with that, there may be scattered rain of hail at some places. Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions may see day and night temperatures drop by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius on Monday. He also said that it may remain almost unchanged in other parts of the country.

He also said that if low pressure develops in the Bay of Bengal, it may gradually strengthen later. The low pressure is likely to intensify into a pronounced low pressure, depression, deep depression and finally a cyclone. If it becomes a cyclone it will be named “Rimal”.
