Land Minister Narayan Chandra Chanda and State Minister of Relief Md Mohibur Rahman separately distributed foods and essentials among Cyclone Remal-hit people in Dumuria and Koyra upazilas on Wednesday. They also separately visited different damaged houses, embankments, and other establishments.
During the visit, the land minister distributed rice, pulse, potatoes, chicken meat, and other essential commodities among hundreds of destitute people at Sahosh, Magurkhali, Sharafpur, and Vanderpara unions under the upazila. While distributing the relief, the land minister said massive
damages and the lives of people and livestock remain safe as the government has taken huge preventive action, including evacuations.
Besides, the Department of Weather has created massive awareness among people in coastal areas through repeated announcements before and after the cyclone. He said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is beside the affected people, and she started to visit the cyclone-affected coastal
areas today.” State Minister of Relief and Disaster Md. Mohibur Rahman also distributed essentials and drinking water, among the cyclone-hit people. He assured coastal villagers that the government will ensure food, safe drinking water, financial assistance, and sustainable embankments in the cyclone-hit coastal areas.
