A woman was killed by lighting in Melandah upazila of the district on Wednesday afternoon.The victim was identified as Ankhi Aktar, 30, daughter of Abed Ali at village Guzamanika in Melandah upazila of the district.
Officer-in-charge, Melandah Police station, Raju Ahmed said Ankhi Aktar was struck by lightning as she was bathing in rain infront her home. She was rushed to Jamalpur General Hospital where the attending doctors declared her dead.
