Online Desk : A case has been filed against three top officials of Public Service Commission (PSC) and 14 others after they have been arrested by CID on charge of leaking questions of government job exams. Confirming the matter, special superintendent of CID Cyber Police Centre said police have lodged the case with Paltan Model Police Station under the Bangladesh Public Service Commission Act where the 17 people have been shown arrested. Earlier, 17 people, including six officials of the PSC, have been arrested by the CID during their raid at different areas for the last two days for their alleged involvement in leaking questions of government job exams.
The arrested are PSC Deputy Directors Abu Zafar and Jahangir Alam, Assistant Director Alamgir Kabir; Dispatch Rider Khalilur Rahman, Office Assistant Sajedul Islam, Auditor Priyanath Roy, Noman Siddiqui, Abu Solaiman Md Sohel, Zahidul Islam, Mamunur Rashid, Sakhawat Hossain, Sayem Hossain, Liton Sarkar, Narayanganj Regional Passport Office Security Officer Shahadat Hossain, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital Medical Technician Niamun Hasan, driver of a former PSC chairman Abed Ali and his son Syed Sohanur Rahman Siam.
Siam was the Relief and Disaster Management Secretary of the Bangladesh Chhatra League’s Dhaka North unit. But after his arrest, he was relieved from the party post. Siam was involved in leaking questions of around 30 government recruitment exams. Abed Ali, driver of a former PSC chairman, was involved in the question leak. He owns crores of taka. It is also learnt that Abed has two multi-storey buildings in Dhaka and a luxurious house in Madaripur. Meanwhile, the BPSC on Monday night formed a three-member committee to investigate allegations of question paper leak in various government job examinations.
Joint Secretary to BPSC Abdul Aleem Khan was made the convener of the committee while BPSC directors Dilawez Drudana and Mohammad Azizul Haque were made member and member secretary respectively. Earlier, Channel 24 aired an investigative report on the question leak. There have been allegations of question paper leak in various PSC examinations, including for cadre and non-cadre posts, said the report. The report said question papers of 30 cadre and non-cadre examinations, including BCS, were leaked and some PSC officials were involved.
