Online Desk : For the sake of security, six coordinators of the quota reform anti-discrimination student movement are in the custody of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB). Requests are being made from various quarters to release these coordinators. However, DB has said that no decision has been taken to fire these six coordinators. On Tuesday (July 30) afternoon, DMP Additional Commissioner of Police (DB) Mohammad Harun Or Rashid said that the decision to release the six coordinators of the quota movement has not been made yet.
Earlier on Monday, the DB chief said the six coordinators will be released and sent back to their family members very soon. The coordinators are: Nahid Islam, Sarjis Alam, Hasnat Abdullah, Abu Baker Majumdar, Asif Mahmud and Nusrat Tabassum. All of them were picked up by the DB on Saturday for ‘security reasons’. Meanwhile an ultimatum was made by civil society to release the six coordinators of anti-discrimination student movement detained by DB within 24 hours.
