Online Desk : A case has been filed over beating police constable Sumon Kumar Ghorami to death during clashes with demonstrators in Khulna on Friday. Sub-Inspector Mostofa Saklain of Labnanchhara Police Station filed the case with Labnanchhara Police Station on Friday night. Some 1,200 unidentified people have been made accused in the case. Labnanchhara Police Station’s officer-in-charge (OC) Mamtajul Huque said none was so far been arrested in the case.
Police claimed constable Sumon Kumar Ghorami was killed in mass beating of demonstrators at Mohammad Nagar area in Khulna city on Friday evening. He hailed from village Kismat Malipaton in Gopalpur union under Kachua upazila in Bagerhat district. He used to live with his wife Mitu and six-year-old daughter Sindha at a rented house at Boyra area in the city. He was a bodyguard of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP)’s Sonadanga Zone’s assistant commissioner Soumen Biswas.
