Online Desk  : Former Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank Nazrul Huda has been appointed as the new Chairman of Rupali Bank PLC for three years. The announcement came through a notification made by Financial Institutions Department of the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday. In the notification, necessary steps have been taken to appoint the director and chairman of the board of directors of Rupali Bank Plc for a period of three years. For this, according to the provisions of 1991, it has been mentioned in the notification to take necessary measures including taking the approval of Bangladesh Bank. As per rules, Rupali Bank’s Board of Directors will take necessary steps to appoint a new chairman.

The notification has requested to compulsorily inform the Financial Institutions Department about the date of Nazrul Huda joining the Board of Directors of Rupali Bank as Director and Chairman. He was also the student of Khulna Saint Joseph’s High School, Khulna. With 35 years of central banking experience, Mr Huda also worked for international organisations and was an advisor of Maldives Monetary Authority on secondment from Islamic Development Bank (IDB). The senior central banker did his post-graduation in economics from University of New England, Australia and University of Dhaka
