Online Desk : A Dhaka court has issued a travel ban on former 18 ministers and eight members of parliament, including the former foreign minister of the Awami League government Mohammad Hasan Mahmud. Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Mohammad Ahs-Shams Jaglul Hossain passed the order on Monday after hearing two separate applications. The ban has been imposed on include – former foreign minister Hasan Mahmud; former minister of state for power, energy and mineral resources Nasrul Hamid; former minister of state for shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, former minister of state for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak; former state minister for primary and mass education Md Zakir Hossain; former expatriates and welfare minister Imran Ahmed; former minister of state for power, energy, and mineral resources Md Enamul Haq; former minister of state for local government, rural development and cooperatives Swapan Bhattacharjee; former commerce minister Tipu Munshi; former minister of state for disaster management and relief Dr Enamur Rahman; former law minister Anisul Huq; former local government, rural development and cooperatives minister Md Tajul Islam; former religious affairs minister Faridul Haque Khan; former textiles and jute minister Golam Dastagir Gazi; former minister of state for youth and sports Md Zahid Ahsan Russell; former minister of state for disaster management and relief Mohibbur Rahman; former water resources minister Anwar Hossain and former information minister Hasanul Haq Inu.
Additionally, former MPs Benzir Ahmed, Kazi Nabil Ahmed, Shahidul Islam Bakul, AKM Sarwar Jahan, Sheikh Afil Uddin, Meher Afroze, Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud, and Sheikh Helal Uddin have also been barred from leaving the country. Earlier in the day, ACC Deputy Director Md Jahangir Alam submitted a petition seeking a travel ban on ten former ministers and three Members of Parliament. During the hearing, ACC Public Prosecutor Mir Ahmed Ali Salam argued the case. After the hearing, the court granted the order. In another petition, ACC Deputy Director Md Mostafizur Rahman sought a travel ban on eight more former ministers and five MPs. ACC Public Prosecutor Mahmud Hossain Jahangir argued the case. Following the hearing, the court imposed a travel ban on them.
