Online Desk : Posts and Telecommunications Adviser Md Nahid Islam has asked the officials and employees of the Directorate of Posts to discharge their duties with highest priority to serve the people keeping in mind the spirit of the mass-uprising. “Let us not forget the aim and purpose of the mass-uprising for which students and people sacrificed their blood,” he said while exchanging views with the officials of the Directorate of Posts at the city’s Agargaon on Tuesday, said a ministry press release.
The adviser said that the Directorate of Posts, which has a glorious past, has done magnificent jobs but people don’t know about those things. “The people of the country have to be given a clear perception about the work of the office,” he added. Mentioning that the Directorate of Posts, which has an institutional shape from the past, is a place of people’s trust, he said that they are thinking of modernizing the department in an age-befitting manner.
Nahid Islam said that people of the country got a new Bangladesh in exchange for the blood of students in a mass-uprising where no one is the hero rather people are the heroes. “Now, everyone is dreaming about Bangladesh. Many people have different expectations. Since the opportunity has arisen, structural reforms of the postal department are being contemplated,” he added.
