Online Desk  :  The previous Awami League government which was ousted in the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement will not remain silent, said interim government’s chief adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus. He said: “They (Awami League leaders) had been looting the country’s resources with fun in their dreams lying on bed silently. Their dreams were shattered by students. Will they remain silent now? No, not at all. They will try their best to push you into nightmare. They will not retreat. They will constantly try their best through hatching conspiracies. So, don’t retreat from the work you have started until it is completed.” Professor Yunus was addressing the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement coordinators and co-coordinators during an opinion-sharing meeting at Shapla Hall of the Chief Adviser’s Office in the capital on Sunday (September 8).

The Chief Adviser urged students to avail the opportunity to turn Bangladesh into one of the respectable nations in the world. “Such an opportunity has never come since the birth of Bangladesh. You have handed over that opportunity to us. It should not be slipped from our hands. We don’t want to turn it into just a state only, rather we want to be transformed into one of the respectable states in the world,” he said. Professor Yunus pledged that the dreams of the students killed during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement would not go in vain. “We are pledge-bound to materialise the dreams of martyrs.” At the same time, he called upon students to remain steadfast in materialising the dreams of martyrs.
