Online Desk : The government has cancelled the contract of MAN Siddique, the managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL). A notification by the Road Transport and Highways Division was issued in this regard on Monday (September 9). It said the order will come into effect immediately.
In another office order, in his replacement, Mohammad Abdur Rouf, an additional secretary who has been serving as the additional project director of Mass Rapid Transit Line-5 (northern route), has been appointed by the division. Rauf will get the salary and allowances accrued in his current post.
Meanwhile, Siddique, a former secretary, was appointed as managing director of DMTCL, the implementing and operating agency of Dhaka metro rail, in October 2017 and he has been serving in the post since then.
