Online Desk : The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has seized properties of Faridpur traffic inspector Tuhin Laskar and his wife Jamila Parveen Kumkum, worth nearly Tk 4 crore. ACC Deputy Director Rezaul Karim made the announcement on Monday. Faridpur District Judge Court Judge Akbar Ali Khan ordered the seizure on September 8, following a complaint filed by an anonymous source. The ACC investigation, led by Assistant Director Md. Imran Akon, uncovered both movable and immovable assets owned by the couple. The assets include real estate in Khulna, Gopalganj, and Faridpur, valued at over Tk 2.8 crore and Tk one crore in bank accounts.
Despite Jamila Parveen having no visible source of income, she allegedly accumulated these assets by showing fake business ventures. ACC is continuing its investigation into additional properties linked to the couple. Legal action will follow after a full accounting of their assets. However, Tuhin Laskar denies the allegations, asserting that all his properties were acquired legally and said that the investigation would reveal the truth.
